blizzard run.

low and behold, we got the 5 inches of snow and 2 inches of ice that were promised. and surprisingly, we got a snowday. I was not expecting one. When I looked out my window this morning all I saw was snow fluttering everywhere, and it looked like it had been out of a movie.
The first thing I did when I saw this was hurry out of bed, eat a banana, and get my tights and running shoes on. Running through weather like this brings satisfaction like no other. While on the run, my miles were at 10 minute pace because of the snow, but I didn't care, I was just enjoying the scenery. After 5 miles I saw Joseph and we ran together a little and talked, but then he headed home. I kept going and eventually made it to third, where I saw a lady talking on the phone on her front porch in her pajamas. Her voice was loud enough that I could hear her say: "Yeah, Bill, it's really coming dow...Bill, I need to call you back. Oh my god. Runner! RUUUUNNNNNERRRRR!!!! OH MY GOD! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?"

I didn't turn around or anything, just kept going, but I couldn't help but grin. It's little things like these that make being hardcore worth it.
